a/c efficiency

I`m curious as to any feedback on how well the a/c functions. I live in Palm Springs and without it being fridgy cold it will definitely act like a toaster...not just look like one. We`re talking 110 f. + thanks, Charles Carroll

I have a smart in Palm Desert - air is fine - i do have black leather seats and a coupe and when the sun shade on the roof is open it does get hot inside - but certainly not unbearable...

It stinks, it is the worst A/C I have ever had. The sun bakes through the glass roof and large glass area, the A/C can not keep it cool.

A/C here in Fl. works well, however, rerruf's comment about the glass roof is true.
I tinted the windows and glass roof and it made a substantial difference.

Here in South Texas my A/C works better than A/C in my GMC. Temp in the high 80's with humidity.

This past weekend was extra warm for us and I used the A/C for the first time. I was surprised how quickly it came on and how quickly the car cooled down (less air volume, of course B-)). I found I could set the temp and it kept it comfortable.

Consider making a reflective insulated panel...like the stuff used behind new aluminum or vinyl siding that's 1/4" thick. cut it to snugly fit between the curtain and the underside of the polycarb roof. Or one of those windshield heat reflectors that you see to keep the sun's rays out.
Insulation between the shade and the roof I think would be the best....along with tht insulation factor.
Easier to keep it cool then but you lose the benefit of the panoramic roof then.
I can't handle that kind of heat at all...that's why I live in Upstate NY. My hottest day is 90 and even that is quite uncomfortable for me.

had one day of 73 degrees already, bright sun thru the shaded polycarb roof is brutal. greenhouse effect, need that built in sunshade for sure, ac works great blasts cold and being a little car helps. BUT I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE MADE THE SMOKED PANEL , [A POP UP OPEN] SUNROOF WITH THE OUTER CHROMED MIRROR TINTED !!!!!!!!!!!! ARE YOU READING, SMARTUSA?
