unwanted attention

My Passion Coupe is supposed to be delivered in the next 30 days. I'm looking forward to it, but I would prefer not to attract as much attention as you all describe. I had one of the first generation 2 Mini Coopers around here. I got a lot of dumb questions (is that an electic car?) but nobody followed me home to ask about it or swerved in traffic to get a picture.

You best get used to it. The smart attracts hugh amounts of attention. I notice it most at the gas station and when I'm driving with the top and the windows down.

Mostly at gas stations for me. Also the car is "recognizable". My hubby and I were at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson the other day and another couple came up to us and said that they are our neighbors. They live on our street and recognized the car.

There was an article published recently in a Green Newspaper that said there are approximately 30-40 smarts in the Tucson area but I have only seen a handful.

The number of people asking if it's electric appears to be going up for some reason.
Hope there's a whole lot more in Miami soon and people get used to it, this is getting annoying now, especially kids with sticky fingers all over it.

my new Smarty

I just got my new yellow/black cabrio Smarty on Friday and have been followed, yelled to, thumbs up on freeways and roadways, and approached by young lady coming out of a store to allow her to sit in her "dream car". I took her for a ride around the block and she kissed my hand and cheek in thanks...amazing. Said I made her week. I've had a Porche, BMW635, Infiniti, etc. and never had this kind of attention for a car. Caught me off guard..but I now have brochures to hand out. Enjoying my lil' one.

Taking My picture like a Rock Star

I love our new Smart - Shiney Black body with a sharp silver trid. I thought tourists came to Orlando to take pictures of the Mouse, nope. They heard about my Smart and pace along size of me on I-4, take photos and video for their private archive. Love the attention. I hope they pay attention to the road, I'd hate to see them wreck because they were gawking at my car.

We have been stopped by the police three times just to ask about our gas milage. Photos taken, thumbs up, and the most smiles I have ever seen. We love it and hate to see it end but it will.

Up in Chicagoland I'm getting the thumbs up from mini drivers and most cruiser bike riders. People driving mini's seem to have a kindred spirit to the smart because both are so different from any other cars available to the public.
