climb ability of smart car

My house is on a small hill. I am thinking of the smart car. Anyone can commend on the climbing ability of it

The hills approaching the twisty part of Lombard Street in San Francisco are remarkably steep. I much prefer to simply drive up such a steep hill though I had to stop behind several other Smarts. Getting moving seemed awkward - it may have been the hill assist doing its job - but I got moving without a long delay. It certainly felt strange, though!

So - going up very steep hills: no problem at all.
Starting in the middle of a steep uphill from a stop? Awkward for one try, but no problem.

I live in San Francisco and I haven't had a problem. In fact, the Hill Assist does an amazing job. The fact that you can downshift with the paddle at will for some extra hill-climbing "oomph" also helps do the job.

Live on an unusually steep hill? Announce the road and maybe a fellow Smart owner will drive it and let us know how it does.

ive been taking my smart from sea level to 8000 ft towing my tent trailer with no problems. i can keep up with traffic and if necessary use the turn outs so the hot rodders can pass, but overall it climbs the mtns fine.

As others have stated, the hill assist works extremely well. I have never had an issue even on very steep hills with myself and a passenger in the car.
