Crashed in Canada

Just wanted to send greetings from Canada. Sadly, I was hit in an off-set front end collision by a drunk driver on the weekend. This wrecked my 2006 Passion Diesel. I will be joining the ranks of the gas-driven Smarts very soon.
Just wanted to say that the Car did an amazing job of protecting myself and passenger.
Airbag powder and smoke were a bit overwhelming, but that is a minor issue.
Does anyone know of a shop doing Smart mods in San Francisco area?

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Great to hear the smart did its job! As far as smart mod shops near SF, I know Works does some pretty cool mods, and you can also PM LittoDevil, as he does body mods, lighting, exhausts, and turbos.

Did this happen in Canada or the US?

Realy glad to hear the car did its job up against a Drunk in the worst case accident. Also glad your biggest issue was the airbag residue

What kind of car hit you?

Crashed in Canada

The crash occurred this Saturday past in downtown Edmonton. I work as a Paramedic, and was going to provide EMS at a local marathon with a co-worker. We were hit as we approached an intersection at approx..40-50 mph, considering our velocity.

The front left bumper and crash box are toast, with additional forces delivered to the Tridion cell. We got hit by a late model Taurus, who, after hitting us, struck a tree. We spun about 200 degrees, and got knocked back maybe 10-15 feet. Really hurt to be honest, and breathing was the most difficult part, until the smoke cleared.

I found a new Smart Limited Three in the showroom yesterday and put my name on it. I am coming down the USA in the Fall to San Francisco to attend a conference, and wanted to get some customizing done, like only American shops can do!!

I will post to the Safe and Smart link soon..thanks for the interest and support.

Greg

Sorry you were in the accident, but I'm glad to hear that after a 40-50mph crash, you're not hesitant about buying another smart. I'm not a paramedic so I don't know how to compare with similar crashes with other cars, but if the momentary smoke inhalation and jarring force were your biggest injuries, my limited knowledge suggests you were fortunate. So, I'm glad to hear you're mostly uninjured.
