The smart doesn't do donuts. It does Cheerios.

(joke blatantly stolen from another thread)

When I picked up my car from Smart Center Houston North, I test drove MY car, with 5 miles on the odometer. It had 9 by the time the sales rep Berta drove me to an empty parking lot, demo'ed hill assist, and let me take over. This is before I signed the papers... if I didn't like it, I could have walked away. It was really cool to drive a car that new. I didn't need a sales rep doing donuts and brake tests... learning the transmission in Houston was stressful enough.

I've seen sales reps redline a brand new engine, crank up a $5,000 stereo to distortion levels, just to demo the manliness. Bad move... Tom needs a swift lesson in how not to demo a car.

Makes me appreciate the fact that:
1) I know how to say: "Knock it off!"
and
2) Smart Center of Pittsburgh is a class act all the way. Rahal would never allow any such thing like that to happen.

SuperGeek,

"The smart doesn't do donuts. It does Cheerios."

If it's already stolen fair and square, can we pass it on?

This thread reminds me why idiots should not drive - anything.

If I had a dealership, candidates for employment would go through a mental detector.

IMO donuts are useless but a braking demo would be expected. Better yet, it would be nice if they set up a autocross course and show the ones with the guts to go along how the ABS, stability control and traction control work.

Be sure to turn it off on your smart when you autocross it.

PS - how do you turn off your ABS?
