So a forum search, there are several threads on this. There are at least two different cruise units for the 451. One is available now, the other should be available in August '08.

cruise control

That would be sweet on the highway. I'm only on it for a few miles at a time though.

If anyone wanted to know the reason that there is no cruise control is because of the transmission. It is a manual transmission WITH A CLUTCH. The reason you do not see the clutch is because it is electronic. With a regular manual the cruise is disengaged when the clutch is pushed but since this one is electronic like the old chevy powerdrive cruise control cannot be factory installed. Before you think about installing a "after-market" accessory please make sure you research carefully because from what I have heard they are very faulty and frequently burn out.

I had 2 stick shift/manual cars in the past (1994 Toyota Supra TT & a 2004 Subaru STi), and those both had cruise control....

My 2002 Mercedes-Benz C230 Sportscoupe had a cool cruise control that allowed me to shift yet still kept the speed. So if I slowed down for a toll, I simply pressed "resume" and then shifted manually (clutch/shifter only) until the car was back up to speed.

This is true, as I said the standard manual transmission you will find on some cars that HAS A CLUTCH will be fine with cruise control. However, the SMART uses a completely different type of transmission that is unlike a standard manual transmission. This is why it is unable to have cruise control on-board. It is much more complicated, but that is why in a nut shell.
