17,000+ miles on my smart now, and no problems with the car to report. Not a drop of oil used. The only thing that has happened to me was a small nail in the tire, I inserted a plug and everything has been great.

I sure like the "IDEA" of this car, but I too am concerned with reliablity. . . As an old English car and bike enthusiast, alas I'm too old and arthritic to "wrench on stuff" anymore. . . . That said my biggest concern is the dealer is 60 miles away. . . . Why is the dealer network so small ? BBROWN

I am 4.5 + hours from my dealer. The dealer network is small due to the limited number of cars the first 3 or so years. If there were more dealers none of them would get enough cars to make it worth the investment. My dealer told me if the car is not drivable they will come get it...so I ain't too worried.
If you are into old English cars you know Lucas the lord of darkness....this car should seem rock solid to you!!!
