I have been shopping the Smart against the Honda Fit.
I was going to buy a car this week and I did.
But it was the Honda.......I just phoned and told them I will be buying the little red Fit that I am test driving.
Now, before you go crazy on me I am going to look for a nice used diesel Smart Fortwo. I have plenty of room for both!
Practicality of the Honda was the deciding factor. Smarts are pretty common here so the wow factor is long gone and there are used and new models for sale in my area.
But I want to visit now and then and keep learning. The Smart is evolving beyond the models of the last few years that we have had in Canada and it will be interesting to see what people think in the long term.
I am going to start looking this weekend. I am comfortable with working on diesels so warranty is no concern for me.

The Fit is a great car! I`m sure nobody here will hold your getting a Honda against you. Congrats on the new car and good luck with the "smart hunting".

I don't think anyone here would want to kick you out for having a Fit. (Get it? I made a joke.) As long as the members don't provoke an argument with a superiority complex, everyone gets along fine.

I'm sure a lot of the USA members are curious as to how the smart does in Canuckland, eh? I remember November '94 in Ottawa... 40 below zero, 6 inches of ice on my Tercel. I chiseled it off in sheets and almost broke the windshield.

I see Smarts driving at -40. But the people at work make sure they are plugged in all the time. I have also seen a few on trucks, but then all cars break down in these conditions.
I would like the lime green CDI if I can find one.
