Don't PAT my roof

It happened TWICE just today. People come up to look at my car, see it is a convertable, and PAT the roof! What's up with that? And the second one decided to THUMP the door to see what it was made of. What do I do??? I don't like it, of course. STOP with the patting and thumping, dayum it.

You could try arming the alarm or even pressing the panic button from a distance. The latter usually puts them in line and keeps onlookers from invading your private space -- no touchy lookie-loo.

But, these are people I know! The first was my boss, the second was a guy who does yard work for me.

well maybe that's the problem?

seriously, while I didn't thump the door when I first saw a smart, I did caress the roof once or twice!

Put a gunrack in plain view from the outside. It keeps gawkers at their distance :-P

I find myself doing the same thing to friend's smarts and the ones at the dealership.

It reminds me of when I was pregnant and complete strangers would come up and pat my belly saying it was for good luck.
I ask permission now - guess I'll have to do that for my friend's smarts - but the dealership is up for lots of pats.

Well, they all just want a piece of smartlove. Try to be gentle with them. A little pat and a thump doesn't really hurt and it gives them so much joy.
