Hey all, I guess I need to post a few times to allow me to email members.
Anyway, I have a 2008 ForTwo that has the SpeedForceRacing Turbo Stage 2 installed. It is outstanding and makes a huge difference over the stock vehicle. Just wanted to give them some props.
Oh right, forgot to mention what the darn post was about.
After the turbo upgrade, you car gets engine codes thrown. Just a heads up for when you need to get inspected. You can get them cleared, but they'll return.
If I had to guess, I'd suspect at least one of them is coming from the MAP sensor, and depending upon the setup, possibly the secondary O2 sensor as well.

Reason: wrong thread, sorry
If the light bothers you, get a scanguage II, when the key is in the second position, without the engine running, you can clear the codes. But, the codes will come back on within the next drive or too. I used to clear the codes all the time, but now I just accept the light and ignore it. Or, you can do what most people with turbos do - put black electrical tape over the light.
OK I'll ask again. Looks like we now have 2 people saying they get service engine lights with aftermarket turbos. Could you tell us what codes are showing up? thanks.
I think I didn't have this site set up to email me if there were posts. I'm very sorry.
The codes I always (still) get are for Barometric Pressure, intermittent O2, ambient air temp and very occasional fuel mixture too rich.
If I clear the codes, the barometric comes back immediately once the ODB has gone through its test cycle or whatever. The O2 and others come back eventually but usually take some time.
I will set this site to email me if there are responses this time! :P
I'm hoping by now, the time that has passed, there is a solution available as inspection in TX now checks for ODB 'ready to test' so I can't just clear it before I go into the shop.
For those curious, I live in LA currently and Tim at SFR tuned/fixed my turbo after it's initial installation at Smart Madness. Something was slightly wrong on the initial install and was only doing 4-5 psi - Tim put me on the (then) up to date tune etc.
I've been running the car for MILES since with no real operational issues but still hope I can make things better overall. Turbo was installed at 29k miles and I'm now at 67k with not a problem AT ALL.
If all of you knowledgeable types know of current solutions, I'd love to hear. I have the whole piggy-back computer setup with the Split-Second box etc.

Doug, I can tell you that all of those problems can be rectified with a laptop and tweaking table values from info you recorded by data logging... A very tedious and time consuming ordeal...
Best done by professionals, believe me...
