Farewell, last post

I have been informed by my local dealer for the 3rd time, that my Smarty would be here within a few days, and each time ,I get a different date.First I get the "within 30 days notice",then I get the 11/26 DD, then I got a 11/28 date, now they tell me on 11/30, "We are getting 28 delivered, and we hope yours is one of them. I had already set up a loan, with an excellent rate, that rate is no longer good due to the dealers time delays.I've even took off of work based on their info.I've deceided that its best just to walk away and spare my sanity.I have really enjoyed this Forum,I could sense the pride of ownership, the excitment of the local clubs,(mine would have been Mid-Atlantic-Hampton Roads),but it just wasn't meant to be.

Get a new loan. For most folks, I don't think a 5 or 7 day delay would matter that much as far as financing is concerned.

I was feeling the same after my 15 month wait and was given the run around much the same way, some of you members may remember my rants but I am happy I stuck it out and got my black/silver passion, It is by far my favorite purchase of all time. I have had my car since May 15th and I still look forward to driving it everyday. My suggestion, just relax and buy your car when it arrives.

don't go

You'll love it when it get here. It'll be worth the wait. I received mine on
July 18th. I still love it. And you will love yours too.
In this day and age, a bank loan is easy to get, and the car is very
well worth it. HANG IN THERE GUY!!!!!

You can get a loan in a couple days. If its your bank the same day. You can play with the rates too, and name them too in a lot of cases. Pro rate is sometime 30 days, on loans. Thats if you got good credit. Why would you even take off a day, when you haven't even seen the car yet?? Is the car on the lot???? Ask the dealer. Why would you wait over a year, then give up??? The dealer will tell you the day, the car is prep, and ready to be delivered. Then take of work.

that's too bad, and somewhat surprising as most decent banks/credit unions will make the loan good for a couple weeks- they know that buying a car isn't an exact science. While I'm sure you're excited about getting your smart, I would have been in contact with the banks, but held off scheduling anything (taking time off, finalizing the loan) until the car was at your dealer. There are so many little things that can delay the delivery and release of your car to count on a certain date.
