Found a smart, need advice negotiating

OK, so I took the advice for Internet shopping

I found a Cabrio and the dealer lowballed me to see if I was serious.
I would like to buy this car.
He hit me at 14800 plus tax
it is a base cabrio 17635.00 including the destination (600.00)
my math says there is about 400 left in the invoice
Adding the tax I need to wrangle out at least 250.00 more to get where I want/need to be "out the door"
I think it is one of those bastard cars that people just won't buy & nobody knows why. Nothing wrong with it.
We are going to take a drive to meet in the morning or afternoon, and would appreciate any more advice.

14800 for a cabrios isn't a low enough price? Do you want the sales person to move back in with his mom? Do you want the service department to sublet out to Toyota because they can't keep the lights on?

Whay do you "need" to wrest those last $250 out of an already fantastic deal?

I'll never feel bad for lawyers, but I feel bad for car sales people (and dealerships) these days.

If Money is so tight, Get a Passion and get another $1000 off.

But Let them keep the doors open for when you need them

That is a lower price than a plain jane Pure.... just buy it. don't mess around with a measly $250.. You already got 3K off the price....

Ended up not being such a good deal. Ended up being 14800 plus tax, plus dealer fees, bringing the out the door price back up to close to retail minus the cash incentives plus tax.
I personally consider that dishonest
I suspected as much when he offered it.
From counting the lot, they did not sell many last week, or the week before, or the week before.
I can't be sure how many, as employee told me they put some in grocery stores around town. Which means they sold less than it appears by counting the lot
Oh well, next.....
Sure did like the little car though
