Got my smart last night!

woeiruewioruweioruewiuiooe, last night, I picked up my smartie! It's been a long time coming. Originally decided against the one I'd ordered, didn't want to part w/my beloved 06 SCION xA (black) however.....the smart kept calling me so, got it as a 2nd car last night. An 08 blue/black cabrio orphan. Oh how I love it! No regrets.

I posted a few wks ago--had a worrisome experience at the Devon smart center. Let me give the manager and some other employees there props now. They worked to regain my business and really restored my confidence! Couldn't be happier.

Thinking of naming it Paddington since that's where I first fell in love w/the smartie, saw it in that area of London a while back.

I've noticed the transmission drags when in automatic mode but, as I've always been a manual/stick shift driver, I am driving my smart in manual mode and, it works fine! No drag! I'll rarely use it in auto mode so, it doesn't matter/doesn't need to adjust to how I drive, which is what I reckon peeps who notice the transmission drag thing will come to find eventually--the car will adjust to how you drive it. So. enjoy!!

I LOVE IT!! Also noticed that smell you talked about on here haha, it's not "a new car smell" yet, it's well, distinct. haah As is the smell from the exhaust or whatever, some kind of coating they used in France which, was told should go away after about 500 miles. omg it only had 18 miles on it. How lucky did I get to get an orphan that was almost as if I was getting my own? I also LOVE how it doesn't have power steering. haha Yes, I LOVE that!

I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee this car. Whee.

Congratulations on the new car! If you're feeling the much discussed "lag" in the "D" mode, remember your foot tells the computer what you want the car to do. If the trans is not downshifting when you think it should, "give it some Welly" as they say across the pond.

So from what I gather, you're saying you love it?

JUST KIDDING! Congrats - and say goodbye to driving the Scion for a while as the Smart will get plenty of wheel time. The Scion will still be great as a hauler when you need it. Have fun, it'll even get better!

My Scion Xa in black *cough copy cat* hasn't been driven 15 minutes in the last two months. I expect you will be ignoring your former buddy as I have and I am planning to sell mine. I got the smart as a primary car. Congratulations on the acquiring a unique vehicle.

i know you must be excited. I did a short video of myself bragging on my Smart car and after having a piece of crap Chevy the Smart was a breath of fresh air. I am still excited after day one and my one year anniversary of placing a reservation is coming up soon. BTW i got mine as an orphan too. What a memorable day.
