We have put 1900 miles on it since June but that included a week gone on vacation. I only got 33 MPG on the first tank of gas but got 41 on each of the next two. I have a 70 mile commute to work. Have to keep a supply of brochures because of the questions I field everywhere we stop.
I too wish it had cruise control. Will get one as soon as I learn more about the car and have more confidence in the possible selections.
We had to have the CD changer replaced today because it would not eject CDs. Had a slowdown on the way to the shop. Would not accelerate or go over 60 MPH. Stopped and turned car off and back on and the problem went away. The the ESP light was on. Service man checked all the grounding points and the light went out and has not come back on.
The car is very comfortable to drive although it took me a day to learn how to shift manually. The automatic shifter shifts too late for comfort. We love the car, like the dealer and trust their service department.
Congratulations from another red Smart fan! (And, welcome to the forum. You'll find plenty of info about cruise controls. Basically, you can't go wrong with either the MDC or the Area451. I have the Area451 (with John H's dash LED) and love it.)
