Greetings from Canada!

I started researching the smart back in 2000. What a unique vehicle.
I love the concept and the brilliant engineering and design.
I was absolutely thrilled to hear that the smart was going to be introduced to Canada in 2004. I was ahead of the game because I had already put a deposit down in 2002 and was one of the first to have my ordered smart delivered in Dec of 2004.I was doubly blessed because my ''Gina'' comes with the cdi turbo charged mercedes DIESEL engine. That means that I am able to get better than 60 mpg when I try. I personally find the 40hp diesel more than adequate to meet my needs. So far I have travelled 130,000 kms (80,000 miles) and have had trips to Chicago, NY, Florida, Norfolk,Atlanta, etc...........
I love to keep my baby shiny and it's still a thrill to drive her. I've also enjoyed doing the majority of the maintenance and learning her little secrets.
I'm an active member at clubsmartcar.com but will check in here to see how my american cousins are enjoying their smarts.

Smart142. Glad to hear from a member of CsC again, and hear that the 450s are still doing well.

Most members here are NA451 owners, and we have a few with 20k on them already. Ours now has 18.5k, and the short US warranty will run out of mileage this year.

Welcome Glenn, and OMG a2jack, 18.5k miles. I be lucky if I drive my present car 10k miles a year. LOL. You must love to drive like a mad person.
