Greetings from a Happy Smartie

Hi everyone,
I hope everyone is as happy with their new little car. I was fortunate to get have mine on the first boatload and have over 8000 miles on my car. I am currently working on putting together a turbo system for my car and some body modifications. Because I thought that the factory tach is quite obtrusive I am working on some small digital gages for such things as rpm, water temp, oil pressure, and turbo boost. These will be supplemented with brake modifications and an adjustable roll bar. My wife thinks of this car as having to potential to become another beetle because of its filling a void that is very sensitive to quality and fuel economy. There are many cars that can match or are better at the economy than the smart however their quality and ride are lacking. I am very proud to become part of this community and will keep everyone informed with the progress as it happens. I am striving to have many of these products developed in time for SEMA at the end of October.

Heading east on the Mass Turnpike in the rain yesterday in my blue Passion my passenger turned my attention to the kids in a school bus which had appeared in the lane on my left. I looked up and there was window after window of young school kids waving and giving us 'V' signs and thumbs up as they spotted the unique little car.

I waved enthusiastically back at them. Not the first time I have experienced kids digging the smarty in the few weeks I have been driving it around, but certainly fun to see a bus load of 'em!
