I've been lurking around Smartmaniacs for some time now but they seem mostly a European group. Wanted to find out how Smarts (both diesel and gas) do in the extreme cold.
Found this site and thought I might lurk a bit to see how these things work closer to home, now that both versions of these have been running around in "winter wonderland" for a while, perhaps less so for the gas models.
I've noticed that lately, the Miata owners have been bashing the Smart and the Smart car guys don't like it. Strangely enough, I see a few Smart car guys bashing on the Toyota IQ. I'm not real found of car bashing for whatever reasons, be it insecurity or jealousy. I like both concepts (Smart and IQ) and I don't see the need to bash on one. So, I'll just learn what I can and continue to lurk for a while until something really interesting gets posted. Get the "lay of the land" if you will.
I've been quite active on the Honda S2000 site for many years, where I'm one of the tech guys. Thus, technical aspects of the Smart interest me greatly.
