New smart owner here from Charleston, SC. 2012 pure, metallic grey/black. Only about 1,200 miles on the clock so far, but lovin' this little car. I just want to take the opportunity to thank everyone here for the treasure trove of valuable information. Using the search feature, I've been able to find answers to all my questions about the car and the mods I've been working on. Can't post any pictures yet, but I did post some in my garage. I still can't believe the amount of attention this little car gets!
Welcome to the forum and yes this little car will get attention everywhere it goes. Heck, even someone else's Smart gets my attention and i have owned mine for 3 and a half years going to the fourth by this July. Oh yes beware of paparazzi's with cel phone cameras.
One guy took a photo of me in my Smart the day after a huge snowstorm and half the streets were still snow packed. He wanted to commend me for my bravery.
It really is very good in the snow.
Funny you mention that- I got snapped yesterday at a stoplight downtown!
3.5 years ago, when my car was new, I noticed a car stop and do a cell phone snap as I approached my car.
Months passed... and my baby sister said the snapper turned out to be a friend of hers. He had shown her the picture, not knowing the relationship, and she recognized me in the shot. Small world.
Thanks all for the warm welcome! Raced my mountain bike today and garnered even more attention! Paying half the price for fuel as my SUV means x2 the races!
