Hello cessna86 here...new to the forum....just wanted to let u guys know that im very interested in a smart car but still not shure if i should order it....i have always liked smowall cars, like the minicooper, beattle, pt cruiser etc...but the smart was the one that caught my attention better than the others...

To those who already own a smart...i wanted to ask...about how much(average) is the monthly paymet???...is it good enough to do a drive trip lets say from dallas texas to phoenix arizona in that long distance???....

From the date that you order the car, do u sign the contract right away or is it just the reservation???

No signing just a reservation and is refundable. You do not even have to be final in your options as you will do a final configuration later. If you are even thinking about getting one reserve now.

Do not know about the rest as I have not received mine yet.

monthly payment can vary so greatly, that question really can't be answered. the pure model starts at ~11,500 ('09 model may increase in price slightly), but options can add up fast, like any car. and then there are two higher-priced models, again plus all the options. check out www.smartusa.com for information on various models, factory options etc.

of course, the car can make long trips just fine. it is rated for speeds up to 90 mph, but does not have cruise control unless you have it added aftermarket. i drove mine 350 mi home from the dealer and it wasn't unpleasant at all, compared to any other vehicle.
