Glad to see that many of you guys have chosen Smart as a good way to move around U.S
Smarts are quite popular here in Europe ...many were sold over the last 9 years.
Anyway , after selling my 2006 fortwo turbo 700cc , i just bought a brand new FORTWO pulse 999cc / 84 bhp / turbocharged ...i live in the busy center of Athens and Smart car is the best way to go around.
Hope to see many many more Smarts being sold in US
Yo Billy! We saw many smarts in Greece about 5 years ago when we visited Athens for a few days on Holiday. I vowed to get one if they ever came to the USA. I remember the traffic in downtown Athens was incredible, particularly the scooters diving between the lanes of cars - Wow. Hope to return someday as we really liked Greece.
The 84bhp Smart is a one powerful micro car ... Combined with the large Pulse tires , it can really amaze you with its power without feeling scared or sth.
The only drawback is the consumption (plus the extra costs associated with the more frequent oil change intervals which i deem necessary in order to protect the turbo engine) ...but ,as said, the turbo smart is an extremely fun-to-drive vehicle ;)

Hi ...Athens is flooded with Smarts .The new model 451 has a 2-3 months waiting time.The basic Pure model costs abt 10.000 euro = 16.000 USD

2-3 months?? That seems like nothing! Welcome by the way I have been to Greece two times and my Aunt lives in Athens. I love it there and hope to go back and visit soon.

The non-turbo version takes a bit more to arrive due to high demand generally and especially in USA market (from what local importers say)
People in Europe with no previous experience with Smart fortwo's usually choose the 71bhp version, which is a bit ''slow'' for my taste .
In the same time ,although the new smart 451 is available , the older ones (Gen I and II) maintain a relatively high 2nd-hand price and they still sell like crazy .

Forgot to mention , that the price difference between the 71bhp and 84 bhp here in Greece is just 700 euro (1100 US$) ...basically , u just pay for the add-on turbo as a spare part
