Hello all. I am extremely interested in the smart car. I live in Suisun city and I commute to Napa California because thats where I teach. Traffic can get crazy. I came to the conclusion that I needed something that is better on gas. That was cheap but still bang for the buck. I currently drive a 1995 Ford Taurus. I Have been looking at the Honda FIT and the Smart. my Drive consist of 10 minutes of Highway 12 6 minutes Of I-80 and a another 12 to 15 of Highway 12/Jameson Canyon going towards napa. For those that understand my commute I was wondering do you think that it would it be worth while to get a Smart car. I was also wondering do we get tax credits for buying the car. Thanks D
No tax credits so far. But the car is a joy to drive and the price/economy/fun ratio can not be beat. The Fit is a good practical small car, but not a true micro car. I have driven the Fit and also own a Scion xA, I prefer the Scion. But neither is as fun to run around in as the smart. If you love driving I would choose the smart.
I Love to drive. Thanks for your response. My friends think that I am crazy for wanting one because I am big guy. But These gas prices are driving me crazy. I am so worried that I will have to change jobs because I can't afford to drive to work. Plus 95 percent of the time it is just me in the car. Thanks D
