HELP!!!! When will I get my Smart????

I reserved a smart fortwo a long time ago - like maybe eight or nine months.....maybe even longer. Each time I try to put in for a DDE, it tells me that it cannot give me a date.....I don't get it!!!

I want my Smart Car!!!! How does all of this work? They have my 99 bucks! They've had my 99bucks for a while and I don't even have an estimate on a delivery, etc....... HELP!!!!

I believe the wait is way longer than 9 or so months. I'd try and call smart and ask them, other wise your wait still isn't over.

At this point, it looks like the wait for people who reserved last year is, on average, about 12-14 months. The current wait for new reservations seems to be nearly two years!

For example, I reserved my smart on June 24 last year and I will be picking it up tomorrow, July 19, a wait of about 13 months. I'm surprised that you don't have a DDE date yet, but I'd say you are probably looking at at least another 5-6 months before your car arrives.

Other factors include where your dealership is located (NY seems to get cars pretty fast, since they have several dealerships), production schedules, etc.

I know it's hard to wait, but I'm pretty sure it will be worth it.

I think they check your posts and if you spell it Smart instead of smart, they put you to the back of the line...

me too, especially if you did indeed reserve sometime before December '07. Definitely find your reservation info and call smartusa!

You definitely need to call smart.....you should have at least gotten a DDE on the website by now, even if you have to wait 18 months for the car. Something looks wrong here to me. See if you can find your original email with the Reservation number. Without that or at least the date on which you reserved, I'm not sure how anyone can check. You might also want to check your credit card statement. It can give you the date the charge was posted to your credit card account. This would at least give you a starting point.
