HF 66771 Tag-Along Trailer $287.99

Hello:

I have been one of those lurkers on this site for a few months. This forum has been very helpful with advice and continues to be a great read on my lunch hour. My wife and I are also looking forward to making the trip to KC from Fountan Hills, AZ.

After researching reasonable priced trailers e.g. Piggybacker, My Best Buddy Cargo XL, HF trailer w/ Sears X Cargo Sport 20, and the Tag-Along Harbor Freight #66771. I decided to purchase the Tag-Along from HF.

Currently they are on sale thru 2/3/2010 for $359.99 ($399), plus I got another 20% off. The total price = $287.99 without tax. Too good to pass up IMHO. This 20% does apply toward the current sale item.

Can't attach link yet for the 20% printable coupon. As a final FYI, this trailer comes unassembled in a 50" X 40" X 16" box.

Heading out to the garage now to build....approximately 2 hours.

Thanks.

I think they do that for legal purposes. U-haul posts max speed of 45 mph on all their rental trailers, and I see them all the time going down the highway at 75-80. I'm sure there is some legal mumbo-jumbo on the contract you sign stating they are not liable for accidents that happen over 45mph. Classic case of CYA.

Do not poo poo that warning. Upgrade those wheels and tires. It is an 8 inch wheel and a 12 inch tire. You wanna guess how fast that wheel is traveling when you are going 70 mph. Just my 2 cents.

Heat and dry rot are your enemy for those small rims. They are the same as I have on my trailer. Closely watching your tires and replacing them before they blow will help if you do poo poo the warning. Been there, done that. Haven't lost a 8 inch trailer tire yet, knock on wood.

An 12 inch upgrade is highly recommended just like Hedders said. That's my next step later on. I have a 5 lug axle on my tiny trailer.
