Hi all, purchased an 09 today.
Hello everyone,
I had an old Jeep Cherokee that was really close to really becoming a "clunker" and though I LOVE my 2002 Hyundai Accent (it's been such a great car), it has almost 200,000 miles on it, and has been parked for 5 months due to me being lazy about replacing the water pump seals. So, took advantage of the cash for clunkers program and bought an 09 today. My wife LOVES it as much as I do, which is really saying something. I've owned WAY too many cars in the last 12 years we've been together (I think that smart is number 25 or 26), so she just sort of shakes her head when I talk about getting a new car. The smart, however, is only the second of those cars (after the Accent) that I purchased new.
We got a Rally Red passion w/ black tridion and the comfort package. Black interior with leather seats. It's great! Got home a bit late, so no pictures yet. I've got to return to the dealer to get the owner's manual on monday, so I think I'll pick up the velour floor mats, trunk tray, and cd holder. I will probably be added cruise, and hopefully an in dash touchscreen LCD with a custom PC backend for music and navigation. About the only other thing (wow, I usually have a list a mile and a half long when I get a new car, guess this car is so cool as is, I told feel the need to do much) is to get the wheels powercoated black. I like the style of the factory wheels, but think that the silver is a bit weird on a red/black car.
See you all around!

Welcome. We were so pleased with our orphan that 6 months later we decided to keep our original ordered car.
Agreed, the black tridion looks out of place with the silver wheels. I know the feeling of the wife shaking her head about the mention of a new car. I have been outlawed from driving through dealership parking lots as the end result is sometimes a new car purchase. We've had over 100 cars in almost 20 years of marriage!
Now, here's what you do (I hope she isn't reading this over your shoulder). Get body kits! Not the spoilers along the bottom type. Panel refresh kits. Under $1,000 and you can continuously change the color of your car giving that "new car chemical imbalance" that is in your brain a running for. In a sense, you trick yourself into believing you got another new car. That's what I've had to do. So far I've had around 11 or 12 variations of colors on my cars and keep getting asked if I bought a new car when all I have is 2.
You'll have a blast and go ahead and add compact air horn to your list of stuff to buy.

Thanks for the welcome everyone!
jwight, as I understand it, the song was referencing a madeup town, just a coincidence that a base as big as Fort Campbell was directly adjoining a town called Clarksville! Apparently there are a handful of bases near Clarksville and the song writers didn't know that.
Micromania, very cool, I'll keep my eyes open for a white/black. In the last few months I've seen a handful of cars up here, and the blog for the dealership shows that a former teacher my mine (now a lawyer) purchased a gray metallic, and my mom mentioned last night that she saw him in it already. Guess there will be more and more around my neck of the woods. I see one almost everyday already on my drive to Nashville for work.
Hope to see you at the August event. Didn't know one was going on, but I've sent an email to Kelleigh to get on the mailing list.

Bum-Bling, sorry, was replying while you were. I saw some of your posts the other night, you've owned some cool cars, I think that definetely have the disease more than I do! haha.
I suspect that when the time comes, either a respray or new panels will help out! That's crazy that you've had so many colors already. I haven't owned a red car in 10 years, so the red is cool, for now, hopefully it'll stay that way for a while. Does everyone think that the stock horn is that bad? I hit the panic button while outside of it last night and thought that it sounded loud enough. I might snag a set of Hella rally horns one day though.
Don't tell me with, but I've officially started a "I want" list, I'm up to 13 items already, and I know that there will be more. That's not even counting the CarPuter component of it. I told her I wanted to build one with an indash touchscreen and she said that sounded cool. She has no idea what she's opened. Now I've just got to stay off of vendor's websites so that I don't get more ideas.
