Saw my first Smart Car in Zurich 6 years ago. Just purchased an almost new 2008 Cabrio from a guy visiting Dallas, TX from Canada. The car has under 2000 kilometers on it. But it is from Canada. How do I transfer ownership from British Columbia to Texas?
Keep all original documentation from the original purchaser's dealer onward to you. You'll need that. DMV will tell you what you have to do regarding US Customs & you might have a problem because the Canadian was obligated to take the car back out of the USA when he left; but probably didn't know that. Have you visited Canada before? You may have to do that.
