crystimart - European smarts are not the US 451 model. They have, in some cases, been around for 10 years. In the US there is a very large demand for smart cars, even though that demand has softened recently. Potential buyers, who have reserved online; generally wait 12 - 14 months for their cars to arrive. To get one without the wait usually involves spending a little extra money. i don't have a smart car yet, but planning on getting one if i can find one in my area. I heard on the news that in germany they were going for $2500. why am i seeing prices comparing to bigger engine cars in the us? why would a smart car with such a small engine cost as much as or more than a toyota or hyandai, for instance?
