Hi, I'm brand new!

I've wanted a Smart Car for a long time. The 1st time I went to Europe over 10 years ago I fell in love with the car. I've wanted one ever since.

So now I am trying to find a dealership. I live near Nashville, TN. What's the best way to find one?

This is a great site. I look forward to speaking with some of you.

Even my favorite actor, Rutger Hauer owns a Smart Car and pulls it behind his motor home. He's a big guy and say's there is plenty of room in it for him. I'm only 5'1", so I know It'll be roomy for me. LOL

Anyway, Hello to all of my fellow Smart Car Fans!

Thanks a lot. I've been looking around the site. Lots to look at. I will be going to Atlanta next weekend and perhaps I will order my car from the dealership there.

I have to decide which model I like. Any extras anyone would really recommend? I want it fully loaded. Do they offer heated seats?

Thanks everyone.

As suggested: reserve one, anykind, and put down your REFUNDABLE $99 deposit ASAP. You'll have plenty of time to test drive, compare, read, browse and ponder BEFORE you're called to finalize (it's called "configure" around here) your order.
Coming that time, you'll be able to change everything if you wish, and you may very well have more options to chose from.

Do I put down the $99 at the dealership and can it be done over the phone?
Thanks.

Do it online. Do it fast 'cause the wait time is LONG.

To help you:
https://commerce.smartusa.com/regist.../register.aspx

Remember, it's a refundable reservation that can be changed later, and NOT a commitment.

YES, do it NOW and do it ONLINE! but find your closest dealer on the smartUSA site and contact them as well, if not in person, on the phone. do it after you've put your $99 down online and tell the smart center 'i've just reserved'.

next, ask them to place you on their 'orphan list'. these are cars that come to the smart center but for some reason the customer has canceled their order. but don't get too excited. they probably have a couple hundred people on their list in front of you. but instead of waiting a possible 18-22 months, you might get an orphan in 6 months or maybe even less.

good luck with your smart experience!

P.S. oh, i forgot.....WELCOME!!!
