Hi there folks...

Just a quick intro...

I'm based in the UK and have owned a smart since 2003.
Love the car so much got the t-shirt and wrote a book...lol

I've been corresponding with Goober from the SAD LA club for ages, miles before any of them actually had a car each.
Now that they have them I thought I'd take the opportunity to say hello to you guys over here.

Miss Polkadot, living near the LA area (Los Angeles, California) I was wondering what the SAD LA club was. I checked some of our sites and found nothing, so I'm way off. Is that something in your neighborhood?

Hi Miss Polkadot, and welcome, you will have to post some piccies in a bit, I think you have to make 4 posts before the site lets you put on piccies, show these guys a really unusual smarty, they will love it, these guys really go to town on their smarts, I have been on here for a few months now, the site is as good as smartmaniacs, except everybody is nicer and don't take the P*** all the time, I have made a few mistakes so be careful, they don't always get our British humour, and I think I have unintentionally upset some people with my quirky sense of humour

Hi Burt,

SAD LA is bunch of very keen smart enthusiasts that started a small gathering way before they ever got their cars. I'll contact Goober and get him to post up exactly where they meet in LA. They don't have a website as far as I know so maybe that's why you haven't 'found ' them.

I had a book published last year with the help of my partner Tom Crawford (photographer) who did all the piccys. It is about smarts, moddied cars and the social smart scene here in the UK.
I'm not sure what your policy is about mentioning stuff like ISBN numbers and book titles in case it contravenes any advertising rules on here.

My car is ermmmm.... not for those with disturbed vision...
Let's just say it a tad spotty...hence my username....lol

I did warn you it was spotty!!

Just gave my car a bit of a makeover inside as she has recently had an engine re-build, so added some nice pink bits and a new mascot! Funnily enough, I had to buy the Hot Pink caliper paint from the US as you can't buy it here in the UK. As far as I know I'm the only one to have used it here.
