How long before configure?

I can't believe he just reserved 2 days ago and he already has his DDE date. I reserved July 12, 2008 and still don't have a DDE date. I wonder if NY is getting cars much much faster than the West Coast? Hmmmmm...

The dealer said they get at least 40 in every month and so far only about 10 have been going to reservations. There are only 2 smart dealers in NY but both told me the wait is only 6 months. Don't know why but even the dde said it. The one dealership adds so many extras to them it would be crazy to buy the orphans, but the other dealer doesn't add anything, so they're very fair. He called me today and said they got 10 orphans in but hae to wait and see if the people want them, if not, I will deff get one. It won't be the blue I hoped for but white is nice too. Beggars can't be choosers right? Good luck! -Lisa

Are they orphans, or 30 extra smarts. If they are just extra, thats why everything has been so slow!

yep, that seems to be the 'norm' as that's what SCI (smart center Indianapolis) tells me for this area......about 22 months now.

but apparently in the NYC area, they're getting preferential treatment. someone else on here posted that he 'reserved' one in June 08 and just 'configured' a couple days ago. his DDE says Oct-Dec 2008!

sorry for the whining, but that's just plain WRONG!!!!!!
