Hey, welcome thumper.
I'm down the road in San Antonio. Wish Ancira Smart was as on the ball as Round Rock seems to be. Only one truck load of cars delivered here so far and half of them are demos.

Thanks ya'll for the welcome!!
Fred,
I am Res # 1212 and did the configure on Dec18th.....so hopefully the cars will be comeing in the next 30 days or so...maybe...I hope..kindof.
Are you getting your smart in Round Rock?? I have been pinging the Round Rock dealer and smart usa and get " we have no visiblity to the database" responce.

I see you also drive a big Truck, I was thinking about selling mine but will wait and see how the smart helps avg out the fuel milage. I also have two motorcycles that get 40 to 60 MPG so I use those a lot for going to work.
I have a step kid and grandbaby that live up near Gatesville ( and me and the SO plan to use the smart to vist them, given the $50 fuel bill in the Dually to go there from Austin:-), so perhaps when the cars come in we can have a smart rally :-)...
FYI- I was born on the Ft. Hood Base ( Army Brat), helped run cattle on the ranges there and bleeed OD green:-) Dad was 82nd Airborn at one time and we were also based at Ft. Brag...amoung lots of other places.

Hi Thumper

I am keeping the giant gas guzzler for the micro ranch work and travel trailer vacations. Also have a stable of bikes but rarely use them for commuting. I am Army brat too as well as retired .... my Army brat kids now nearing 30 years old all absconded with the family econo box cars. The smart fortwo will take the daily commuting duty off the Texas Caddy and while it will never pay for it self in reduced fuel costs...it will significantly extend the life of the truck from less frequent use. Good friend of mine is Ft Hood cattleman Billy Cowert perhaps you and he crossed paths in the past ...The Old boy has been on this installation for decades

Yes , as a 1215 (30 April) configured 15 Dec I expect to get mine from SCRR in next 4-8 weeks... we will see

Perhaps later this spring on one of your trips to or from Gatesville we can meet and enjoy a beer of two

Always good to see more locals around here. I am looking forward to meeting other local smart owners once we get a few more running around out there. They are indeed a lot of fun.

I think we should make a Texas SMART site, anyone know how to do that? I was an AF brat born at Williams AFB in the Phx area, now I am a retired Navy reservist and have two sons in the Army. I'm a 1200 config 26 Nov
