Howdy from DFW, TX

Got on the list with our $99 on about 20 May. I'm SO looking forward to it. Originally thought we'd get red. Have since decided to get black/black/black instead. Haven't got our email with the superduper password yet. Just trying to be patient. Not as easy thing for me but I have no choice.

Looking forward to reading more about the smart fortwo while I wait for ours.

Welcome! We are in the same general area of DFW, but I try to stay away from Lost, Dazed, and Confused as much as possible. People may get us confused since we're ordering the same car - all black. And to think the opinion of black cars in Texas is so negative. Some friends configured their black /silver/? car yesterday...that would make at least 4 on this forum - in DFW area with black cars.

I would think with a May 20th reservation that you would be very close to getting the configuration notice, actually I would've thought you would've had it by now. I reserved May 7th and configured December 21.

I was thinking that you ordered one too, but couldn't think of your exact forum id at the time. I'll start getting excited when you tell of your delivery...maybe mine will be a month out at that point since I configured about a month later.

I stopped at the Smart Center in Dallas on Friday, and Whitney said to expect delivery approx 120 days from configuration, if that helps any of you with target dates. Everyone there was very nice, but I was somewhat surprised at the information they still don't seem to have or be very certain about. Whitney said the radio is easily upgradeable to Sirius by the dealer, which isn't what I had read here. I just figure I will wait and see all of this; if the 120 days is true, I should be getting around the first of April and hope that by then all these details are worked out!

120 days is about right... we put our deposit last March and configured in September... and took delivery yesterday. We have an older G&K imported Smart too, and loved it so much we decided to get a 2nd one.

RLove: I've spent most of my life in Lost, Dazed and Confused and it probably won't change any time soon. Though to be more specific I'm in Arlington.

SmartJj: Don't think I care one way or the other about Sirius. Since there's still the possibility Sirius and XM will merge soon and all the players that are on the market now will become obsolete. As long as I can plug in my iPod I'll be happy. Heck, I'd probably be happy with just the CD player but figure I might as well splurge. ;)

WOW, quite a few smartcar owners here in the DFW area. I am in McKinney. The wife just got her Brabus yesterday. She LOVES IT.

You have to have patience to get your very own (ordered ) Smart.

I confirmed 4/3/09
Allison from Dallas Smart center called yesterday and told me my Smart was at the Port in Florida and would be on the truck by the weekend and I would have it middle of next week.
As for patience, I could not wait so I found one in Tulsa,Ok in February and bought it. It has 5600 miles and they have been some of the most memorable miles I have ever accumulated. I will miss old Yellow (new one is White) when I trade it in next week.
