I put my second reservation in on Dec 5 (1434). Don't anticipate the car until late 2009. My first reservation was in June (1262). I expect that to be in late summer/fall 2008.

I am also new to the Smart Car kew. Maybe by the time my number comes up they will have straightened out the Diesel situation , and I can get what I really want , a Diesel......

I have a 1377 number, I anticipate late 08.

I think that is very easily done. But, I also think they will have a 20% or more attrition rate, and I think they can build more cars then they say. The limited availability thing is just part of marketing the car. Of course, there is a limit, but I think it is really around 40,000 units.

We will know if I'm right a year from now, but I would take a bet on them selling 40k this year in the US.

they may be able to sell 40,000 cars for MY08, but will only build slighly more then half that!
