I Am A Newbie

Hello all. My name is Beth and I live in L.A.

I just found this site yesterday and by reading some of the posts, I see there is much I do not know.

I reserved my car last April 1. I received a final confirmation a couple months back asking for my final color and car choice, etc...., but have not heard anything since.

I have no idea what reservation # I am or when the cars will be in to this area. I did call today and was told that the dealerships should be determined by the end of January so I need to wait to be notified who I've been assigned to.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance anyone has, also any particular problems or issues I should keep my eyes out for, that others have already had experiences with.

Beth, try to locate your reservation number (last 4 digits) it might even be on your confirmation (I have not gotton one yet), But it you ordered on April 1st it should be around 1186. only 1173 & 1174 are getting thiers right now except for a very few exceptions.

Beverly Hills
West Covina
Laguna Hills
Riverside
North Hollywood
Santa Barbara
Torrance/Redondo Beach (later this year)

You'll find your reservation number on your original email from smart, its just a date code when you paid the $99.

Some cars all ready ordered may not be picked up if people change their minds. Good to get friendly with a couple of dealerships. We're lucky here, so many to choose from!

Good luck! I get my car next week in Beverly Hills, reserved back in March.

I talked to my dealer today and he said that if I wanted to make a change to call the 1800 number at smartusa. I have tried for hours and it is busy. Can someone on here tell me the number just to make sure I am not dialing the worng one.

You are absolutely right. I just looked on the email confirm and the last 4 digits are 1186. I am in Granada Hills.

I called Daniel at SMART today to see if they knew what dealership would be handling my car, but he advised that this information would be forthcoming within the next couple of weeks.

So, based on your research and knowledge, am I in the first groups of folks that will be getting the car?

the number is 1 800 smartusa

I had no problem reaching them today. Call answered by automatic voice that said, "you will have a wait of approx 5 minutes", but it was more like 2.

try again on Monday, ask for Daniel. He was very helpful and nice.

Most likely you're assigned to Universal City on Lankersheim. My guess is you'll get yours in 90 days more or less. Now is the time to run down to Lankersheim almost to Universal Studios, its on the right near the Mini dealer and smile pretty for the nice salesman. He will be your best friend to get info on your car. Their computer should be running next week and can tell you where you are in line.

Thanks much for the info............just back from a quickie trip to Big Bear and first thing I did was sign in here to check any messages.

Know Universal well.......will head over during the week and play kissie face......I'll have to bring my 20year old daughter. She's the stunner that will make his knees weak and he will then become my SMART slave forever!

Question...........Universal City what? Is it Mercedes? I am familiar with the area, although haven't driven up Lankershim in a while, there are several dealerships.

Its on Lankersheim between Universal City and the 101. Its next door to Universal Mini who owns the smart center. The actual address should be up on the smartusa.com website next week.
