I had a nice white and red passion reserved, and this cash for clunkers program going on, then the chance of it going away forced me to give up on my reserved vehicle.

I made a sacrifice and settled with a Silver Brabus. What a fun ride home, all 260 miles of it from the dealer in Tulsa.

I started to lust after the smarts in 2000 when I saw one in Amsterdam. I never drove one till, well yesterday when I bought the Brabus. I read all the horror stories about the transmission, the buffeting on the highway, no power etc. All I can say is, yeah it may only be three cyls, but at 75-80 all the way home getting 39.97 (would have been forty if I didn't squeeze those extra couple of ounces in the tank during the fill up!) mpg is pretty damn impressive.

The transmission shifting is a little odd, just reminds me of when I am going up through the gears on my motorcycle, except the car is doing it for me.

I love my smart!
