I just got a configuration email~!

Just checked tonite, it moved up Mar-May09 to Feb-April 09 So hoping it keeps moving up for all!!

why were you expecting to configure at the end of 2009 if we are not even in the end of 2008 yet and the current wait time for a smart car is 12-14 months??? unless dealer lied to me about wait time??

I'd read on the various forums that the configuration would occur some three to four months before the DDE. Since my DDE (at that time) was May - July 09 I assumed that configuration would be around last part of 08 or early 09. Considering I'd reserved in early April 08, that seemed reasonable, and within the 12 - 14 month window.

You know what they say about "assuming" though!

I got my config email today also. Only thing is I'm a 1370, I reserved Oct 1 07 DDE says February 09 Start to finish will be 17 months
Turns out ok, as a Husker, the new red is way better

~ Does the configuration of the car make any difference in the delivery date? I mean, if you choose more options versus less options or if you choose leather interior versus the standard black . . .
