After waiting for 11 months, we went down to the dealership in Cincinnati this past Friday and picked up our new Smart Car. Have drive it every day since then and I just love it. So, if you're in Centerville and see a silver and black passion please toot!!
I've had my Smart ForTwo since June 26th and love it. However, I'm having a problem with the Tow-Away Alarm and Interior Motion Sensor. Is anyone else having it go off anywhere from 10 minutes to 5 hours after they park and lock the car? It happens on a flat surface as well as an incline. I've left the windows cracked or totally closed and have even tried re-closing everything that has a latch .
Occasionally the motion sensor in the cabin is installed "upside down" creating false alarms. As prevalent as the issue has been, I'm mystified that their quality control hasn't eliminated the issue yet.
Next chance you have to visit the dealer, have them address the issue. In the mean time, the Owner's Manual will show you the "Tow-Away Alarm" button which you can use to disable the sirens.
