Having had my smart for nine months now - some thoughts. . .
Power steering - I don't have it, & haven't ever had a problem even in tight spots. It's a light-in-the-front car, not hard at all to turn. Use the $450 for something else, unless you're a 90# weakling or grandma.
Panoramic roof - In the summer, I install a thermal panel above the sunscreen. . . problem solved.
Radio 9 vs 10 - only difference is the single CD vs six and additional speakers. Upgrade your 9 speakers + add tweeters - save $$$. Or go nuts and install a whole new system.
Fog Lamps, Tach & Clock & Alarm - don't have them, wish I did. They're on order for my next one.
Window Tint - installed aftermarket. Very much needed in FL.
More than one passenger - rent a car - Enterprise is reasonable, and they'll pick you up!
Bottom Line - you can't go very wrong if you think of the possible problems before ordering. Be sure and take a good test drive. Visit two or three times if possible to get a feel for the car . . . good luck~!

+1 on window tint...especially in the sunnier climates!

also +1 on the test drives...makes sure you take the dealership guy on a nice long adventure, ask to go around the block and over the railroad tracks...go on a fast street, go on a slow street, stop for a while...then go around the block again and try out the manual shift mode...

remember, don't let up on the gas between shifts...the smart will take care of that automatically...
