I'm in Love

I'm used to getting attention from other carnut's, I also have a 60 metropolitan. I'm fallen in love more and more everyday with my SMART CABRIO, and most of all I don't have to stop to let my top down, How cool, and my car get's a big smile everytime we pass a gas station, how much more do I want, and for the safety... I changed my driving habit, I can't change the other people, and when my time comes... at least I had fun in a SMART car

Last night a car full of 20 something young ladies stopped next to me at a red light. They opened theie windows, signaled me to open mine and asked all sorts of questions (gas/electric, mpg, who made, typical ones I get all the time). That light turned green and we went to next red light. More questions and at the last change the really cute driver said "Cool Dude- Go Green". It's been a long time that anyone (yong, old, cute or plain) paid that much attention to my car, and/or me. And that includes a list of 75 cars, including mid 60's vette, 911 whale-tail, couple rods and other very nice wheels.

I agree with rtist2, "at least I had fun in a SMART car."

I feel pretty safe in my smart! Of course, the fact that I haven't had anything more serious than a minor fender bender in 38 year's driving might be part of it. I've always been a defensive driver.
But, the smart is a very safe car. Is there any reason to enumerate the safety features to justify that statement?

I love driving this car!

I'm not sure why, but I love driving this car! Lot's of people ask all sorts of questions about the car (how fast will it go? how far will it go on a charge? what MPG? What is it? are the most common ones). It seems like I spend more time out of the car talking about it then driving. I own, and have owned many really nice rides, but don't seem to remember them getting this much attention as this tiny car. Oh well, like I said, I'm not sure why, But I love driving this car!

Interesting. Wife liked mine so much, I never saw it. Finally got an orphan for her, now all are happy.

Everyday my smartie proves himself more and more adorable. He carried home three 2 x4x 8' pieces of lumber from Lowe's, much to the amusement of the F150 drivers in the parking lot.
