When I first started driving, I had to pay Allstate $350/mo because I had zero credit history and zero driving record - i.e. no experience, high chance for accidents. After 8 years of a clean record, that was cut down to about $120/mo and is now $75/mo for the same dollar value. Of course, I was also living in Los Angeles in the beginning and now am in Alabama... low crime rate, low accident rates I guess. Drivers are still stupid around here but maybe for insurance purposes others' IQs don't count.

$391/year for 08 Passion compared to $358/year on 08 Yaris. Would probably be the same but I took the vehicle replacement option with the smart.

sounds reasonable...the smart is brand new and the VW is four years old - end of story!

I'm 62, and old enough to equal the age of some of your parents. I can tell you from experience...if you're buying insurance from Allstate, you are not getting the best deal. I've been let down by them on price and coverage twice. They won't get a third time.

I have had Progressive for years, and my smart cost about $15 less a month than my Pontiac Vibe did, and now is closer to $25 a month less. Don't know what the yearly is because the wife handles the money, but it's not bad.
