Might be because there will be more dealers for the same type of car. I'm very interested in a Smart but right now a dealer is too many miles away. I would assume(could be wrong)but the IQ would probably be sold at the Toyota dealers and around here there's a dealer every 30 miles. I wish Smart would add more dealers but from what I have read they simply don't want to.

Turn shifting

Yeah, I had to explain to the wife that paddle shifting while turning the wheel is not only difficult but dangerous as well, that she had to shift to the 'stick' during the brief period of executing a turn.

Took her exactly 2 minutes to master it. And I took to the shifting in the first 25 miles of driving, so give the beast a chance. As gsteetcomic says: It grows on you.
Personally, I find the transmission design an engineering art form. I can't wait to perform my first clutch plate replacement, (many mile down the road, eh?)
