Now I know what that black whatchamacallit above the windshield of a cabrio is: a SPF 30 spray. To activate, feed the coin slot in front of the shifter!

Also, the ride compared to your Lincoln is going to be dramatically different.

Speaking of Pittsburgh, my wife and I are headed to the Pittsburgh Auto Show this weekend to see the smart display! Stop by the show if you're in town and into those kinds of things.
Well, . . . I'll be . . . . . . just a few counties south of me. I'm in Hancock Co., and just a 25 minute drive from downtown Pittsburgh, PA Had the same feeling about WV weather prefered the Passion Coupe. Also gave the Insurance Company a call and asked for premium quotes on Friday. Amazingly low premiums on this vehicle. And for my Valentine's Day - Hubby and I drove to the David Lawrence Convention Center, Pittsburgh today (nice crowd and long walk as the Convention Center Parking was full). Got to check out the Smarts. No test drive - I thought this just has to be equal in riding comfort and probably better than my old '69 Bug with automatic transmission (no clutch). A very exciting day as we placed our order and have a confirmation number. Hum, . . . . now to pass the months patiently.

I agree! My insurance went down $300/year vs my 2007 Honda Civic. We use Westfield and I'm sure it varies from company to company.

Valentine's Day is also our anniversary (16 years), so we're making the trip to Pittsburgh for the auto show tomorrow. I'm a lucky guy!

You're probably right there. I've never driven an original Beetle, but I can't see the smart's ride being worse.

I waited 13 months for mine, but if you're ready to buy, you can probably find an orphan not too far away that has the options you're looking for. It seems like the dealers (Cleveland, Columbus, Pittsburgh, etc.) have cars available.

Good luck and you'll have to join us for our next smart gathering! A few of us got together back in October in Charleston. We had jwight from Columbus join us and Dave Van from the eastern side of the state bring two smarts!

Well, I could dream and hope for an orphan. One of the Show cars is exactly what I ordered. But Pittsburgh isn't suffering as the rest of the nation. Doubt there are any. Pitt started their economic decline in the 70's - all the Steel Mills gone and we've diversified. I might check Ohio. Our WV panhandle is only 3 miles across. They're in a bad way

I tried joining for membership - but it's with Pay Pal - which I've never started. Am considering pestering my son and reimbursing him.

Yes this is nuts. But it provides an exciting future - waiting - like waiting for 5 years in a doctor's lobby.

Almost afraid to dream of an orphan. I'd say, "Of course!" And did join SCOA as suggested. Am passing the time this afternoon waiting my 24 hours waiting and hoping for a DDE.
