Intro

Howdy
Picked up my Silver/black Passion coupe last Thursday at the Laguna Niguel Center in California and I just filled the tank today. I got as far as 200 miles before the 1 gallon warning came up. I hope the millage improves as that only equates to 25mpg! I didn't really do any spirited driving either and usually less than 1/2 throttle. The tank showed full when I left the dealer on my 70 miles ride home. I think I'm going to go back to the dealer to see why I'm getting a diesel like racket vibration sound under any sort of lower rpm throttle load...

Anyway, I don't miss my Jaguar at all.

Regards,

Charles
Redondo Beach.

Charles, welcome to the site. Laguna was my dealership too. I got a low 32 for a couple tanks before the mileage began to creep up. I am getting 36 now; not what I expected but there are so many positives to this car, and 36 is far better than the 12 I was getting from my Yukon. Good luck with the sound. Search the site for weird sounds, you may find someone with a similar problem and resolution.

Welcome! Hopefully its just a first tank kinda deal and nothing serious! By the way, what speed do you normally drive at? I drive at 80 mph and get around 35-38 mpg when I do. During my break-in period when I drove pretty tame I averaged around 40mpg.

Thanks for all the advice, I filled up again after 90 miles and only consumed 2.3 gallons so it's now on track at just under 40mpg. I think the dealers underfill the tank just enough to register full which throws off the 1st tank figures. I replaced the horn with powerful twin fiamm trumpets and also plan to go to a stubby radio antenna, otherwise I'll leave it alone! Still have to figure out the rattle/racket under load.
