I'm Scott. I reserved a Passion in white, silver Trident thing, and red interior. It's due for arrival on August 17. I have mixed feelings about it -- mileage isn't what I think it should be, warranty is crap, and my experience with Mercedes Benz products in the past several years has been less than positive. On the other hand, it gets better mileage than any other gas-only car, it's small and cool, and I like it. So I don't know what's going to happen on August 17... will I buy it or walk away... I want it but I wonder if a Honda Fit would be a better way to spend the money.... Thoughts?
Like JPaul sez. You have to try if for yourself and I don't mean around the block. I have much faster (and thirstier) cars/trucks but I find myself driving the smart more and more as the price on at the station go higher and higher.
No matter how your view it, the smart is an attention getter. The Fit is really anonymous. No comparison to the smart when it comes to the coolness factor.
To smart or not to smart, or should I Fit instead? The Fit, in its present configuration, will never get the fuel economy of a smart. The smart will never carry to adults and two children (you won't get two 5'10" adults in the back seat for very long). No one will ever ask, "Hey, is that a Fit?" Nor will they approach excitedly and proclaim, "That's a Fit, I've read about them. Where can I get one?" You might hear someone ask what gas milage you get but that will be your best friend on the golf course asking the question.
There is nothing wrong with any of the other minicars on the market, they just aren't smarts. Good luck with your decision.
Buy it and try it out. If you like it, keep it. If not, sell it and make a profit. You will sure make someone else very happy. The smart gains value as you drive it off the lot!

Scott,
If ease of parking is high on your list and you want to have a cool car, then get a Smart.
If you have not parking issues, and you don't need to have a cool car, then get the Honday Fit.
Bottom line: get the Smart, and you will gain more "smiles per mile" then any other cars out there (except for the obvious-Ferraris, Lambos, etc...).
Yep! I agree with Dave! Buy the Honda! Let your smart go to the orphan list when it comes in! Make someone that really wants one very, very happy! The warranty is crap, and Mercedes products basically suck!! I wouldn't even hesitate.......go for the Fit!! You'll love it!!

I get an idea in my mind, and God himself would be unable to change my thinking. If you ask me- in the realm of pint sized cars, the Smart is where it's at. The honda fit looks like a tipped over milk crate on wheels. It's ugly. If you're not worried about styling, then go for the fit. It makes more sense. I just couldn't be happy walking through a parking lot and knowing that's what's waiting for me. I'm very particular (vain?) about my car.
If the smart car wasn't coming, I have to say the Toyota Yaris was starting to catch my eye. It's not that cute... but it's cuter than the fit!
Priorities!
