I (obviously) recently joined this site, and would like to introduce myself. I live in the Houston area, and reserved my Smartfortwo on May 22, 2008. Checked my DDE on the 'official' website and finally have one; 9-11/09. Well, if a mama elephant can wait 18 months for her baby, so can I . . . but I don't have to be patient! I originally ordered the blue/black combination, but since they cancelled the blue, I'm switching to rally red/black. I've done one test drive, as has my 6'5" husband who also loves the car, but I keep needing a fix, so I go back and do another test drive. Holds me for a while, but I'm still not a very patient person. I'll be visiting here off and on, as time permits, to see how everyone else is coping.

Canceled the blue? Who told you that? The red is now a rally red and yellow is gone by the way of metallic gray. Go ahead and get the blue.

I have the Blue and glad I did it. I am also 6'5. I wish the steering wheel was a tilt wheel and the shifter was on the dashboard. Its giving me the incentive to lose weight. I love the attention. I have made a lot of new friends, even at the community centers swimming pool. Keep going back, my dealer all of a sudden has 16 cars on the lot due to the economy. I wish there was a bra for the front. Bugs at 70 mph can put a scratch in it.

Hmmmmmm - I thought they replaced the blue. Gonna have to rethink this - I like the rally red . . . would make it more visible on the highways. Ah well. I don't have to make up my mind right away. I'm number 65 on the orphan's list for my salesperson, but the dealership only got one orphan last month (sigh). I'll just have to keep taking test drives to satisfy my jones.

If you're looking at orphans, I'd make a list of what options are important to you. Smarts look good in all colors. Besides, you can always change the color with new panels but it's a lot harder (and usually way more expensive) to add many of the options after the car is built.

The only options I want are lojack and fog lamps. I want to know where da baby is at all times, and I like being able to see wayyyyyyy ahead of me at night.

The fogs don't make much of a difference for you seeing waayy off, more of a short distance but they look cool on the car.

ShyWulf - Welcome to the Forum!! The regular headlights are plenty bright and on high beam, the throw out sufficient light to at least what seems to be 3/4 mile...they're bright!! Good luck with your new Blue smart!!
