Introduction

Good day to everyone.
I am new to the forum and wanted to say hi.
I am not an owner of any type of eco-friendly car yet. In fact i drive a sulfur belching F-350 4x4 diesel truck. The only reason i have this truck is for towing my boat. IT costs close to five dollars a gallon to fuel my truck. I'm spending around 150-160 dollars a week just to drive a few miles to the office and home and maybe to the market. The wife drives a BMW 745li. It has some features that improve gas mileage but nothing like the smart cars.
My father saw a smart car in Europe recently and told me to look into them as a possible commuter. He bought a Prius a couple weeks ago (sorry).

My overall goal is to find a vehicle that I can use as a commuter and I would be willing to help test new products and promote these vehicles and products in my area of Southern California.

Welcome johnnycell!! Lots of smart info here, you may have to search for electric and hydrogen fuel cell info though as we're all pretty happy with our gas sipper.

I have a 2006 27.5 foot Essex Raven. It is an open bow v-hull with custom Gell Coat. So far, we only go to Lake Havasu, AZ. I plan to take trips to lake Mead, Lake Powell, and mabe even the Ozarks.

Lake Havasu is about 4 hours from my house (at 75-80 MPH). Plus I have a couple of friends with spare bedrooms that live there. Its a nice weekend getaway for me and my family and/or friends.

You live in Rancho? Dont tell me we know each other?!?!?

Jonnycell, well, I've been in performance boating for 40 years, have owned about 1 of every kind, still do some part time work for Hallett & INCO. Spend some time at Parker, Havasu, but prefer the adult lake; Lake Mead, especially since we have a home there. Hope we run into each other soon...

The adult Lake! hah! The boring lake. I know what you mean though. Havasu can be stupid at times. Before i was married i ran a 29 foot scaraab with a paul pauff built 454 and crushed velvet (pimpin) theme down below in the cabin) with an obnoxious stereo system. Now, We like to go up river (past the sand bar) and find a nice mellow beach near topoc. Plus, we usually stay away from the big weekends. I like to go when there are events like poker runs. Its thrilling to me to see the big off shore boats roaring by at 230+ mph. There are always neat custom boats and all of the new stuff on display somewhere in Havasu. I learn alot from other boaters. Its like a boat show. Im a racer at heart. I raced wave runners and sea doos for 6 years. I cant afford to race real boats.
I would love to come to lake mead and hang out. Can you help a guy get into a set of CMI headers for my 496 HO?
