Is It Just Me Or...... (lots of flaws?)

Is it just me, or does it seem like there are a lot of quirky problem with the Smart. First there are noises, then transmission problems, then wiper problems, and then starting problems?

Are these problems with with the Pure, the Passion, or the Cabrio? Is there a quality control problem, maybe a rough boat ride to the States, are the French messing with us?

Is it really that fun to drive or the anticipation of a breakdown the exciting part? Smarts have been out for quite a while, it seem as though some of these problems should have been worked out by now.

I hope, as I write, you realize that I am really excited about getting my car and I have waited ten years and I don't want to be disappointed.

its all models. They are new to the US have to expect the first few rounds are going to have problems its normal. But they have been working out the bugs. Yours should be fine when it comes in alot of the bugs are out of them now. When r u suppose to get yours?

We mostly hear the squeaky wheels, but lots of owners are very happy with a car that runs as expected: flawlessly...

I did not go to a dealer but, had my car delivered the 500 miles to my door. I was concerned about doing this but, very happy with the quality. Now at 14,000 miles I've had only one problem a faulty alarm which was repaired under warranty. I saw that there are now 20,000 451's in the US. Most known problems are corrected..... Enjoy

Was one of the first ones in Houston to get their smart in February, not the first problem, NONE

I expected problems so I got a 7 year 100,000 mile bumper to bumper extended waranty. That explains why at 9000 miles, nothing has gone wrong.

The two people with problems will be louder than the thousand without, simply out of frustration. My car's doing great with 3200 miles in 6 months. Yes, I only drive 500 miles a month... short trips, where the SUV got 10MPG I now get 35-40. Traffic takes getting used to... plan to leave a carlength in front of you while people creep forward at a light and don't try to follow them. Wait patiently and only engage the transmission each carlength.

No flaws with mine.....any new car - any car for that matter will have its share of unique problems. About 6 months of ownership, and no regrets!
