Greetings, everyone. I'm Eric. I'm your typical math geek from Albany, though I do have a newly domesticated feral Border Collie to make sure my life can never get boring, and the proud owner of a new red/silver Smart Passion(pic coming when it stops raining). I am upgrading from a 1993 Ford Tempo which has been on its last lung for 15 years. Needless to say, I am very happy. I look forward to tinkering with this vehicle in many different ways, as I'm not too keen on making certain companies richer one gallon at a time.
Well, here's my first post on this forum . . . and off I go!

Congratulations to you, Eric! I got my smartie back in February and every day that I drive it is a blast! I've got a Blue/silver one and it's the only one you will see around with the MB star on the back lower valance.
I have not modified my smartie too much as I feel it doesn't need it, but there are a couple of areas that have been modified from stock.
Have fun with your smartie! I'm in Latham if you wish to get together sometime to compare notes.
Hi, Eric. I'm in New Paltz. I've seen a few smarties near me, and I commute to NYC and see a few more there -- not too many anywhere yet.
There is a get-together on Aug 10 at the Cloisters in NYC if you'd like to meet more smart owners and check out their autos. I'm planning to attend. There is prolly a link somewhere to the get-together, but I'm not sure -- lmk if you need it.
Enjoy the car. BTW, mine's black-on-black, burnt orange interior. It was an orphan, so I was happy just to get it, tho I'd have loved a yellow. What's yours?
We took a trip to Lake George and the Catskills last week. I saw one going through Albany (can't remember color) and another on 81 west on our way to the Catskills. I also saw one on the Mass Pike as we were leaving.
Strange, but I have only seen one while on the road here in Boston (w/a wrap, going the same way, tied up in traffic--no waves) while I was driving mine.
Here's a quick photo of me, my trusty best friend, and my new smart. We're both happy to have a new vehicle. Nitro-puppy enjoys the bed, aka, the cargo hold where he can enjoy his seventh nap of the day while I do all the driving.
and to the right of the screen, you can see part of the poor Detroit futility that is known as my previous vehicle.
