what is lo-jack insurance? never heard of it.
lo-jack can typically be a pretty good deal insurance-wise regardless of whether or not the local PD is completely equipped to track the vehicle if stolen. in MA, the highest possible insurance discount on theft coverage, 35% off, is achieved only with lo-jack installed.
success with lo-jack in vehicle recovery usually relies upon a few critical elements. that the area where the vehicle was stolen from is populated with police cruisers that are equipped with lo-jack's tracking hardware.
and that you are able to report the theft very quickly after it has occurred. there are not very many places to hide the lojack device in a smart and as such, they are easily found once the criminals have the vehicle in a spot where they can take a few moments to go through it and rip that sucker out - so time is of the essence.
