Hi S.W.!

I'm in Clarksville, but just picked up my new smart last weekend from the smart center in Rivergate on Gallatin Pike. They had close to 30 cars on the lot, many options and trims. I didn't get my EXACT want (black on black with black leather interior) but I got one with every single option I wanted that's Red on black. Love the leather seats. 2 days from test drive to pickup, and only that long because of the CARS program paperwork not coming in until Friday night.

There really is NO WAIT right now and the selection seems to be really good, at least it is here in Indy. I just checked their website and they have 31 NEW ON THE LOT, including TWO BRABUS! Ok, well.....one. I know one is 'sold' to someone we all know and love!

If you're going to get a used one, make sure you get a REALLY good deal, as the prices of 'used' have been about the same as a new one.

Thank you everyone. I've been having trouble locating a Smart car today. It's Sunday, but tomorrow I'll locate one at a Smart car lot that's open. I didn't realize that you could get them new these days. I remember when there was a 1 year waiting period.

They do have used ones as some owners decided to trade in for an 09 model when they came out.

I bought this 2008 Smart car today used and it had a whopping 5236 miles on it. I dig this car. It handles great, and it would leave my Volkswagen 'New' Beetle in the dust! I'd post a picture of it if I knew how. I'll be driving it some 300 miles south tomorrow, or the next day. I'll find out more about it then. I'm really excited about this car.
