Looking for a cheap Smart Car!

Well, I was googleing for a wrecked Smart car to see what was out there, and what do you know, a forum appeared.

Basically, I'm a huge automotive enthusiest and I would like to turn a Smart For Two into one of those hybrids with the GSX-R 1000 or a busa engine.

If anyone could point me in the right direction that would be great! Basically, I'm looking for one with minor damage or a cheap one I can strip out.

Thanks!

Have you checked eBay? Perhaps they might have some in Canada since I they have been there longer.

Are you planning on doing this with the 450 or 451? I can get you a wrecked 451 that would work for you...

Sorry about that. 450 is pre 2008. 451 is the new style one i.e. the one here in the U.S.

You also should read the ordeal that one of our members posted here on scoa. His name is chickenfeet and he did just what you want to do. His step by step posting will save you a lot of grief. NOTHING about the build was easy or fit as advertised. A must read if you really plan to do one.

I'd agree, he should read it. But, it was the KIT which was the problem. If this poster has the tools&skills to do it without the kit, then he would have a different set of problems to deal with, right?

It's an auction so the price is TBD. I can't seem to post pictures. If you're interested I can send them to you...
